What does a chiropractor do?
Chiropractors are trained to locate areas of the spine that are not functioning properly, (also called subluxations). When an area of the spine is not functioning properly it affects the health of the bones, muscles, ligaments and nerves in the area.
Chiropractors use painless spinal adjustments to restore health to the spine and surrounding tissues.
Does it hurt?
Adjustments are painless.
What is the nose associated with an adjustment?
The adjustment may cause a noise similar to “popping your knuckles”. This is not the bones cracking. The noise is the pressure (air) being released from between the misaligned vertebrae- much like the built up pressure being released from inside a pop can.
Are all patients adjusted the same way?
Each adjustment is tailored individually to the patient's specific case. Adjustment technique is tailored depending on whether patients are children, pregnant women, adults, or seniors.
Once I go to a chiropractor do I have to keep going?
Absolutely not! Once is better than never, yet many people do choose to continue to receive the benefits of chiropractic. How long you decide to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you.
Is chiropractic safe?
Chiropractic is one of the safest health professions in the world.
Can a person who has had back surgery or fracture still see a chiropractor?
Definitely! Conditions such as these often place extra stress and tensions on the spine and tissues. To leave this extra stress unchecked leads to further problems in other areas
What kind of education does a chiropractor have?
A chiropractor's education is the same length as a general practitioner. Chiropractors do at minimum of 3 years undergraduate work followed by 4 years of chiropractic schooling. In fact, chiropractic education is so extensive, chiropractors are one of the very few professionals who have the knowledge to diagnose patients and are given the title doctor.
